Zombie Cat Defies Death And Rises From Its Grave
Losing a pet is always painful and challenging, especially if the death was violent and untimely. When Ellis Hutson, 52, of Tampa found his dear cat Bart lying in the street in a pool of blood, not breathing or showing any signs of life, he was devastated.
Hutson was very close with Bart and couldn’t bring himself to burying the unfortunate animal, so he asked some neighbors for help. They dug a hole in the ground and placed the cat’s body inside, covering it with dirt. Hutson watched the cat being buried and after the funeral went home to mourn the loss of his beloved pet.
Days passed and then something highly unusual happened. A neighbor knocked on Hutson’s front door, holding a cat in her hands. It was Bart. Hutson could hardly believe his eyes. It was Bart, there was no doubt about it. But there was no doubt that they had buried Bart days before, either.
What happened to the poor cat remains a mystery. The only logical explanation is that the cat was in very rough shape when he was hit by a car, and appeared dead. After he was buried, he somehow must have managed to claw his way out of the grave and get out when he regained consciousness.
The local Humane Society examined Bart and it seems that he will be alright, although he has lost one eye, broke his jaw and suffered severe head trauma.
If Bart is not the proof that cats do indeed have nine lives, we don’t know what is.
