Top Model Caught Stealing Three Chocolate Bars!
Top model Roosmarijn de Kok has been charged with stealing three chocolate bars and fish oil from Whole Foods in Tribeca, according to the Daily News.
The 19-year-old Dutch beauty, who has appeared on the cover of Vogue Thailand, was in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday.
She seemed rather nervous in court and the judge had to tell her to stand properly.
“Before we proceed, please tell your client to unfold her arms,” Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Denise Dominguez told her lawyer Sal Strazzullo.
De Kok is charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth-degree for the alleged shoplifting at the 270 Greenwich St. location about 3:20 p.m. on July 18.
Her lawyer said the charges had no sense since de Kok hadn’t left the store with the items in question.
“The complaint states that she attempted to leave — it doesn’t state that she did leave. She’s totally innocent,” he told the Post.
He also claimed that his client ‘forgot’ about the candy and fish oil and emphasized that she did pay for other items in the store, including protein bars and non-fat yogurt.
Prosecutors offered to drop the charges if she keeps a clean record for six months, but the model refused the deal.
Her case was adjourned to Sept. 25 for future arguments.
Although she declined to speak about the case, de Kok said she is doing fashion week soon.
