Mother Says She Loves Her Dog More Than Her Son
A mother in England recently shocked and infuriated the nation when she publicly admitted that she loved her dog more than her son. Kelly Rose Bradford said that she is fonder of her West Highland Terrier, Matilda, than her 11-year-old child. In an effort to explain her statement, Bradford appeared on This Morning and talked about a recent study which found that women think of their dogs as children.
‘’Let me put this into a little bit of context… there was a study done last month where they got a load of women who are dog owners and mums and they analyzed their emotions when they were shown a picture of their dogs and their sons. When the dogs came up there were higher signals and I can relate to that. The dog is forever in this newborn state. Kids eventually become stroppy. [Matilda] is suspended in a baby state.”
When asked how she would feel if her son said the same, Kelly replied that he already loved Minecraft and his DS more than her.
Physiologist Lavern Atrobus said that dog enthusiasts might feel like this because ‘it’s easy to have those easy relationships.’
