Mother Kills Six Babies and Hides Them In Boxes

Megan Huntsman has one and one thing going for her–honesty. She has been completely honest about what she did to six newborns that she gave birth to over the past decade. Her admissions are astonishing, overwhelming and downright heartbreaking. Huntsman says that “she either strangled or suffocated them immediately after they were born.” She went on to say that she would then wrap them in towels after killing them, stuff them in plastic bags and put their bodies inside boxes.

What did she do with these boxes? She stacked them with other boxes in her garage.

While her honesty has definitely been helpful in this horrifying case, what police are left to wonder is why she did what she did. Moreso, they are wondering how no one knew what was going on. How could none of her family members or neighbors not know that she was pregnant?

Huntsman was arrested on April 14, 2014 and resides in jail on a $6 million bond. There were a total of seven bodies found in the boxes in her garage; however, one appeared to be stillborn, meaning police can’t charge her with murder on this infant.

It was Huntsman’s estranged husband who made the discovery of one of the infants. He was cleaning out the garage, which belongs to his parents. He immediately called Huntsman, which is somewhat weird. Why didn’t he call police first? Police responded by coming to the house and after searching, they found more bodies.

What makes the case even more odd is the fact that Huntsman has three daughters, some of whom were born during the same time period that she murdered her other children. Why would she allow some of the children to live and some not? Questions like these will have to be answered as Huntsman goes to trial for murder.
