“Maybe You’ll Find A Dead Body, But Enjoy Your New Home!”
William Wilson thought it was strange that the doors of a long-vacant house he bought at auction on Tuesday, November 4 in Florida were chained from the inside.
Also, kids next door told him he could find a dead body as they never saw the owner leave.
Wilson was shocked to discover a nearly mummified body on the floor of the master bedroom next to the bed, as he told Reuters.
“It wasn’t expected, that’s for sure.”
Cape Coral police put yellow crime scene tape around the pink house’s yard. Sergeant Dana Coston said there are no obvious signs of foul play but an investigation is pending.
Wilson bought the house for $96,000 after it went to auction because of the owner’s failure to pay property taxes for three years. He also said it appeared the owner was in the process of packing.
Wilson learned that two elderly sisters from Venezuela lived in the house and that one died in 2005.
Wilson bought the house for his sister-in-law and her family, who moved from Cuba recently.
“She doesn’t want it now. She’s … kind of superstitious. The sad thing was she was there for three years and no family ever showed up to ask what happened.”
