Man Arrested After Offering Prostitute Salad Instead of Money
In a recent sting operation that took place in Daytona Beach, 10 men were arrested for soliciting prostitutes. However, one guy was particularly interesting.
The man is question is Alonzo Liverman, he is 29 years old and he is known locally as being a high school basketball standout back when he was a teenager.
This was an all-day operation by police to come down on people trying to pay for sex in this area of the city that is known for a lot of prostitution.
Liverman told police officers that he tried to get sex from a prostitute, but he did not have any money. So what did he do? According to what he told police, he asked the prostitutes if they would take a salad instead of money. While salad is definitely green and some nice lettuce might look like money from a couple dozen feet away, the prostitutes were not going to have any of it. What was he trying to tell them, that they need to eat healthy and lose some weight?
Liverman was a big-time player in high school and he was actually taken in the NBA Draft of 2004 by the New Orleans Hornets. However, he has spent most of his professional career playing for European teams, and also some time playing in Turkey and Israel.
It is also interesting to note that another one of the ten men that were arrested was a sports standout as well. This was 33 year old Tim Picket, who played football locally for Mainland High School and then for the Florida State Seminoles in the early 2000s.
There were some pretty old guys taken into custody as well. The oldest man was Steven Hardock, who is 86 years old. A 72 and 65 year old were also arrested. All ten of the men were taking into custody and charged with solicitation.
However, the most interesting part of the story is still that Liverman tried to offer a salad to a prostitute because he didn’t have any money. Hopefully it was a more expensive salad like a Caesar.
