Desperate Man Wants To Exchange Three-Bedroom House For iPhone 6
A desperate Detroit homeowner is willing to trade his deteriorating three-bedroom house for Apple’s latest phone.
For months the detached two-story, three-bedroom building has been on the market for only $3,000, but no one wanted to buy the property in the bankrupt Michigan city.
Now the owner, who lives in Austria and has never visited the house, has told his real estate agent he wants to swap the property for an iPhone 6 or even a 32GB iPad.
“My client is overseas and he told me he would be willing to trade the properly for an iPhone 6. It sounds to me like he wants the new version, but I think he’s willing to negotiate. ”
He bought the house four years ago for $40,000, hoping to resell it for more money. However, since house prices crashed, the property stood empty from 2010 accruing huge taxes which the new owner will have to pay.
In addition, the new owner will have to spend thousands of dollars to repair the dilapidated house. The current owner admitted that the house is “in terrible condition and needs major work.”
“It’s not anywhere near move-in ready. The area is also filled with similar houses, mostly vacant.”
