Burglary Suspect Caught After Snapchatting His Location
There’s nothing we love more than a good dumb crime story. Christopher Wallace, despite sharing his name with the late great Notorious B.I.G., isn’t nearly intelligent as the late rapper.
He was wanted in Maine for burglary and was doing a pretty good job of hiding from the cops, until he started using his favorite social media app. The 24 year-old apparently stole some cooking equipment back in January and has been on the run ever since. According to police, he stole a cast iron wood stove and a propane cook stove from a local camp.
He figured he was safe since no one had caught up with him in a couple of months, so he decided to start playing around with Snapchat. He sent pictures with the app that clearly showed that he was back in his home in Fairfield. Of course, some people who follow him on Snapchat saw the pictures and they decided to tell the cops about it.
So the cops came, but were not able to find him. But the Wallace did something that was even stupider. He sent out another Snapchat saying that the cops can’t find him because he is hiding in one of his home’s cabinets.
The cops then started looking through the kitchen cabinets and finally spotted a pair of feet. Busted! Wallace was taken out of the cabinet and arrested. He was charged for burglary, theft and violation of release conditions.
Will criminals ever learn that using social media is never a good idea when hiding from the police? Probably not.
