Another Ice Cream Man Arrested For Dealing Drugs
After hearing about this news, we have been wondering can it be possibly real. This sounds more like a case from “Breaking Bad” than a reality. There are a lot of dumb criminals all across the planet, but this one could enter the top 10 – of course if it turns out he actually did it. At the moment, he’s still accused, arrested, and the trial is expected.
What exactly happened? According to KPIX, a witness called the police, saying: “The ice cream truck driver just tried to sell me some drugs”. The accused is Kelly Brown, 62-year-old man from California who worked as a driver for the Kelly’s Ice Cream at the time. The police reacted immediately after the call. Brown was arrested for suspected methamphetamine possession on Wednesday, May 21, at an Arco gas station in Brentwood. Currently, he’s in Contra Costa County jail.
Although we were shocked when we found about this, it seems that this is not such a rare case. There were others dumb criminals that tried to sell drugs, pulled out straight from their ice cream trucks.
Similar case happened in 2011 in Long Island when the 22-year-old truck driver was caught with cocaine and marijuana in his truck. Also, he was seen buying the drugs in the doorway of a home in Westbury. However, it is not clear if he was trying to sell it or consume it. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Unlike in the previous case, a Maryland man that was arrested in 2012, had an intention to distribute the drugs. The police had received a tip that he was selling marijuana out of his ice cream truck. It gets only worse. In 2013 in New York, man was filmed selling cocaine out of his ice cream truck, while there were children in the vicinity (of course there were, it was an ice cream truck).
Next time, when the ice cream man asks you which flavor you want, watch out what you’re going to tell him.
