A 70 Year Old Man Marries A Woman 40 Years Older Than Him
As the old adage goes, age is just a number/state of mind. Shaking your head in doubt? Here’s the best proof of all!
Aimti Ahemti and Azatihan Sawuti were just a pair of elderly folks down at the local nursing home in Chinese province of Xinjiang, not ever thinking of finding romance at their age. And their age is enviable (if you’re an optimist). Aimti (70) is actually a young gun compared to Azatihan, who is herself – 113! And probably one of the contenders for the title of the oldest person on the planet. But we’re still waiting a Guinness Book of World Records jury on that.
Anyway, Aimti and Azatihan first met in December last year. And right from the start, it was a relationship of passion. Their fiery romance propelled them into deciding to get married only a dew months later. Not something you get even with the most enthralling young love affairs today. Well, we suppose they were in a hurry.
The overjoyed and still spiritually vital Aimti was happy as he can be to have won his sweetheart’s sympathies. He says it took him a while to convince her to get married, as Azatihan apparently was a bit of an indecisive bride, but he did nit take no for an answer. Eventually, his persistence payed off.
The wedding ceremony was held this April in Bachu County, in front of tens of well-wishers and fellow nursing home clients. Aimti was asked to comment on the very big age gap between him and his bride, but he only said that they are happy together and that’s the only thing that matters. A very reasonable attitude!
Also, when asked what brought the together and what made him fall in love with Azatihan, he replied: “She takes good care of me, and gives me her portion of meat during meals.” Again, we must concur. After all, it is said that the way to man’s heart leads through his stomach.
We wish the happy newlyweds all the happiness in the world! Perhaps now all of you still-single-and-panicing-over-it folks would relax a bit after learning that true love awaits, no matter what. It may take a while till it gets there, but better late than never. Right?
