12 Most Bizzare Fast Food Tales
Fast food horror stories sometimes take on the larger than life status of urban legends. Most of these stories are told just to freak out little kids or gross out our friends. However, sometimes there is a glimmer of truth in the fiction. In some cases, the truth is stranger than the fiction could ever hope to be. Here are the 12 most bizarre fast food tales that are really true! Hold onto your stomach!
1. Burger King’s “Unfriend” Facebook Campaign
In 2009, Burger King briefly held a “Facebook Sacrifice” campaign. The campaign used a Burger King Facebook application that would award a coupon for a free Whopper to anyone who un-friended 10 people. Normally, people don’t know it when you un-friend them on Facebook.
However, the Burger King application would send the un-friended people a note saying they were less important to you than a free Whopper. More than 234,000 people dropped 10 friends in this unfriendly way before Burger King dropped the campaign.
Even though the social network didn’t shut the app down, there was no way that Facebook would have allowed such an app to exist. So, Facebook forced them to disable the app’s functionality because Burger King blatantly violated users’ expectations of privacy.
